Showed it to SWMBO, but she still refuses to put up the lights.

Wouldn't that be good music for a ride video? Picture twisties and accelerations, sparks and passes...

I guess I was wrong, not the first time and likely not the last....

Well, my wifes response was " I'm glad stuff like that amuses you"

So I still put up the lights, a tad less than 16,000 lights and the only special effects is changing out the first one to make them blink on and off.
I have a bike and I am not afraid to use it

This will tell you how to get the information to do it. Hopefully I added the link right. Just copy and paste if not. Only took three hours to set up I guess.

Yeah I read the article too, but as far as "how'd he do it" is concerned it took him three hours to set up the software and synchronization. Gave him his 15 mins of fame though.

Well I just got to Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "The Lost Christmas Eve" Concert in Houston and man was it great. Three solid hours of playing. First hour & a half "The Lost Christmas Eve Story", the second hour & a half as they called it "Fun Time" and man did they rock. I recomend if you get a chance go see them you won't be disappointed.

                    TSO

Wasn't that a great show? We had killer seats at the American Airlines Center in Dallas for the 3 pm show. Seventh row seat 3 & 4. This is the fourth time in as many years that we have seen them. We have all of their albums including Beethoven's Last Night, and the video. The light show would rival Pink Floyd's. If you get the chance go see them, they rock!

I caught the show a couple of years ago. I didn't know who they were at the time. All I knew was that it had orchestra in the name and it was a Christmas show. So...I bought tickets to what I thought was an "Orchestra" that played Christmas music. A nice evening with the Mrs. Right? Imagine our surprize as we walked in with my nice suit and her black dress. One guy even mistook me for an usher. To make matters worse I saw a co-worker. He said "Nice suit. Hahaha". All I could reply was "Shut the f' up. " Nice show though. Although I felt a tad overdressed.

Hey...I never claimed to be musically informed.

Certainly makes all the would-be Griswolds in my neighborhood look like pikers. Glad this house isn't near mine, it'd drive me nutzoid. Happy Ramahanukwanzmas everyone!

                          John,
I told my son at the show that TSO reminded me of Pink Floyd. They had a meet the band after the show but there were to many people gathered to see them and with a 2 1/2 hour drive home and my sons finals we decided to wait til next year to try to meet them. Can't wait til their new album/tape/CD comes out.
They played a couple songs from it and said that when the tour was over that they would then have time to finish it.

                            TSO

Each of the first three years that we saw them, we did the 'meet and greet' thing and the wait was fairly long, but each member of the band was out in the lobby signing autographs, and shaking hands. This year they were doing two shows, and they made no mention of a meet and greet, so we didn't stick around. They only had two hours between shows, and that would not give them enough time to rest between shows. They sold out the American Airlines Center for two shows, about 10,0 seats per show. Each year we derss up for the show. It's about the only time I wear the 'glad rags' any way, and I don't mind playing dress up once in a while. One thing that I did notice was the crowd's lack of 'concert ettiquette'... nobody but me held a cigarette lighter up when the band finished playing. If you get a chance, buy their "Beethoven's Last Night" CD...it rocks!

Back to house with the lights...
I just found out the house owner, an engineer, used two of the Xilinx Spartan 3 starter kit boards to co-ordinate the lights. As I work for Xilinx, I think it's cool.

Yea, I was going to flick my bic too... but some of the people used glow sticks and others had some type of flickering stick maybe it was their phones. This was also the second of two shows for the night. They mentioned the 'meet and greet' then played for another 30 minutes. I picked up Beethoven's Last Night last year and also picked up the The Lost Christmas Eve CD this year for my son. Befor it over will have all their CDs.
